The Billings Mustangs have announced their 2017 Pioneer League schedule. The Mustangs open the '17 campaign at Dehler Park on Monday, June 19 when they play host to the Missoula Osprey in the first game of a 4-game series. Game time for the home opener is set for 7:05 pm.
Main Street Baseball, owner and operator of the Billings Mustangs, has won Ballpark Digest's 2016 Organization of the Year award. Main Street Baseball is led by CEO Dave Heller and runs four affiliated Minor League Baseball teams; the Billings Mustangs, Lowell Spinners, Quad Cities River Bandits and Wilmington Blue Rocks.
For the second straight season, the Cincinnati Reds finished last in the National League Central. The organization is in a rebuild and has spent the past three years reloading through the Draft and by trading veteran big leaguers such as Johnny Cueto, Aroldis Chapman, Todd Frazier and Jay Bruce.
The Billings Mustangs and Cincinnati Reds have agreed to extend their Player Development Contract for two more years through the 2018 season. Mustangs Managing Partner Dave Heller and Reds Director of Player Development Jeff Graupe made the announcement in a joint press conference on Monday at Dehler Park.
