The Mets' 2010 first-rounder allowed four hits and struck out five over seven innings as Double-A Binghamton defeated Erie, 2-0.

Harvey walked two and faced three over the minimum in one of his best starts since being promoted to the Eastern League on June 26. The Mets' No. 3 prospect was aided by his defense, which turned three double plays behind him.

Harvey (4-3) began the year in the Florida State League, earning All-Star honors after going 8-2 with a 2.37 ERA for St. Lucie. The 22-year-old right-hander moved into the organizational lead by picking up his 12th win Monday, and he sports a 3.17 ERA in 24 starts this season between Class A Advanced and Double-A while ranking 13th in the Minor Leagues with 151 strikeouts.

The University of North Carolina product is coming off a couple of rough outings, having allowed six earned runs in his last two starts. Despite that, Harvey is riding a four-game winning streak for Binghamton, winners of five straight.

Josh Stinson tossed two hitless innings of relief to earn his fifth save for the Mets.

Dusty Ryan drew a bases-loaded walk and Eric Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to account for Binghamton's offense. Former first-rounder Reese Havens was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Juan Lagares extended his hit streak to 12 games with a single in the fourth inning.

Drew Smyly (3-2), the Tigers' No. 6 prospect, took a tough loss after allowing a pair of unearned runs on three hits over seven innings. The 2010 second-rounder also struck out 10. He matched his career high, which he originally set July 25 with Class A Advanced Lakeland.
